BTS Jimin’s China Fansite Gets Punished - Trending news

It was announced that BTS Jimin‘s Chinese fansite, Jimin Bar, has been penalized by Weibo for crowdfunding for their recent airplane advertisement. Jimin Bar had planned on the custom airplane to celebrate his birthday.

This comes in line with the recent measures by Chinese authorities to clamp down on what they are calling “irrational” fan activity. They had previously planned a gorgeous advertisement by wrapping a plane from JejuAir with Jimin’s birthday banner, something that had not been seen before in K-Pop.

An announcement by Weibo delivered the verdict on Jimin Bar’s project. Jimin Bar has been banned from posting on the platform for 60 days.

Weibo Community Announcement

"Since Cyberspace Administration of China announced “Additional Measures To Clean Up Fandom Chaos”, Weibo has been doing related clean-up as requested, posting several announcements to advocate supporting celebrities within reason and to maintain order within this community. Netizens reported to us that, in April, an account started a crowdfunding event for a “customized airplane” on other platforms, which violated the rules. Recently, they posted the results of the event on Weibo. The contents of the post included elements of inducing and comparing, which is a serious issue. We immediately banned the account JIMIN_JMC (also known as Jimin Bar) from posting for 60 days and deleted the related Weibo posts. Weibo is strictly against the irrational support of celebrities, and is ready to take serious actions. Weibo remains committed to fulfill our social and corporate responsibilities, and has strengthened our governance over fandoms in order to clean up their online conduct. Our entire platform is using the same standards while governing and setting the rules, without a single difference. Once an act of supporting a celebrity is determined to be irrational, we will deal with it seriously. Going forward, we will continue to make periodic announcements on actions taken. We all need to work hard together in order to clean up the fandoms; our users are welcomed to give us tips and feedback on this matter." — Weibo

Dancer Taro Calls Out Hate Comments After Her Dance Battle With Lee Chaeyeon On “Street Woman Fighter” - Trending News

Mnet’s latest variety show, Street Woman Fighter, has been the talk of town. Recently, the show got into controversy as many claimed that it was portraying some of the dancers in a bad light with evil editing. Viewers also took issue with the fact that the show was portraying former IZ*ONE‘s Lee Chaeyeon as someone that other dancers picked on.

In a preliminary dance battle, dancer Taro from the Holy Bang team had picked Chaeyeon as her opponent. Ultimately, Taro lost to Chaeyeon. It seems like she had been receiving hate comments for her choice of opponent for she stepped up to address the hate.

"Please stop~! Have a battle with me~! The sacrificial lamb to the development and growth storyline is slowly getting annoyed~! — Taro"

She further updated to show that she would not let it get her down.

"I love all comments, bad or good. I still haven’t shown all of my skills from the 10 years of my dance life that can be considered both short and long, so please show lots of interest to Taro and Holy Bang in the future. (That’s right, I’m originally a provocative Lord of the Underworld!) — Taro"

Former Purplow’s Honey J and RI-HEY Hug It Out On “Street Woman Fighter” After 5 Years Of Bad Blood - Trending News

Purplow was once one of the hottest dance crews in South Korea, after their many collaborations with Jay Park. Their leader, Honey J shot to fame as Jay Park‘s backup dancer and choreographer, with Purplow rising in recognition along with her. They famously worked on Jay Park’s “Me Like Yuh” back in 2016.

Unfortunately, Purplow soon disbanded and fans were left wondering what had happened. Honey J went on to form a new dance crew, Holy Bang, while her second-in-command, RI-HEY, took the other dancers from Purplow and formed a new team, Coca N Butter. The show was their first reunition since the break up of the team five years ago. Honey J explained that she ended up unfollowing the girls back then after seeing them gather as a dance team without her, while RI-HEY explained that Honey J had unfollowed all the girls and hence they had not been in contact.

The two duked it out in a dance battle on Street Woman Fighter, with RI-HEY ending up winning. However, Honey J showed her graciousness and reached out for a hug first. The hug seemed to convey everything to two wanted to say over the last 5 years.

The other ex-Purplow members on the show couldn’t help but cry either.

After the episode, it was noted that Honey J followed RI-HEY once more, for the first time in 5 years. Awww! We love a good tear-jerker. Here’s to hoping they will become friends once more.

TWICE Can’t Hide Their Love For Tzuyu…Even When They’re Competing Against Her - Trending News

There’s no doubt about it: TWICE loves their youngest member, Tzuyu!

In the latest episode of TWICE’s variety show, TIME TO TWICE, the members divided into teams and competed against each other in sporting events.

To play a shoot-out game, each team had to choose a goalie. Once the goalies were chosen, the teams took turns kicking a soccer ball into the goal.

Jihyo suggested that Tzuyu be her team’s goalie because she’s the tallest member, and Sana and Chaeyoung agreed.

Tzuyu’s teammates believed that choosing her as the goalie was a great idea since she would be able to block the other team’s shots easily.

While they were right about her being a great goalie, their plan had an unexpected advantage: The other team didn’t want to risk hurting Tzuyu!

Before Mina and Dahyun took their turns, they said they were worried that “Tzuyu might get hurt,” and they also directly told her they didn’t want her to get hurt.

Clearly, the TWICE members can’t help loving Tzuyu, even if it means they’ll lose to her!

Here’s Who TWICE’s Nayeon Would Be In The Marvel Cinematic Universe - Trending News

TWICE‘s Nayeon has shown herself to be a bit of a nerd, specifically towards Marvel superheroes.

After her photoshoot with Elle Korea, Nayeon was asked a few tough questions about her love for all things super.

The first question she was asked seemed simple enough. “A huge Marvel fan Nayeon, which hero do you want to turn into, Thor vs Black Widow?” However, Nayeon answered in a way that was both unexpected and completely predictable.

“I love Iron Man” she said with a guilty grin. This answer should come as no shock to ONCEs as Nayeon has shared her love for the hero before.

During a past VLIVE broadcast, Nayeon couldn’t stop talking about her love for the avenger and the actor who plays him.

She even shared at the beginning of the broadcast that if she had a choice, she would be Iron Man.

This made her answer to her next question a major shock. When asked “What if you could be a hero?” Nayeon replied:

"I’ve always wanted Spider-Man’s skills. Which enable him to stick to and climb up anywhere, and climbing up the walls looked really fun." -Nayeon

While Nayeon hasn’t shown as much of a love for Spider-Man in the past, we hope she will be more willing to share her nerdy side with ONCEs in the future.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung Reacts To *That* Infamous “Party” Rehearsal Fancam & It’s Still The Funniest Thing - Trending News

Even if you’re not a fan of Girls’ Generation, almost everyone has heard of Sooyoung‘s famous “Party” rehearsal fancam. Now, six years since it was recorded, the star reacted to the hilarious clip in a new episode of “TheSOOTORY” on YouTube.

Typically, before a multi-group concert event begins, each act performs a stage rehearsal before they get into their costumes. Such was the case back on July 27, 2015, when Girls’ Generation was performing at Music Core Ulsan.

Since most fans don’t see these rehearsals, there’s no need for idols to give the performances their all. However, Sooyoung took rehearsal apathy to the next level that day, resulting in a fancam that would crack K-Pop fans up for years to come.

In the clip, which now has over 5 million views on YouTube, Sooyoung can be seen wearing a tightly laced hoodie, slouchy jeans, and dark sunglasses, and the level of effort she puts into the performance screams, “Go girl, give us nothing!” Unbeknownst to Sooyoung, the whole thing was being recorded, but SONEs couldn’t get enough of how much she was not here for it.

In a new episode of her YouTube show, Sooyoung reacted to the six-year-old video—along with fans’ comments on it. One fan remarked that viewers should look at Yuri too. Sure enough, Yuri looks just as hilariously “done” as Sooyoung was.

“Isn’t this video showing Yuri sloppier than me?” Sooyoung laughed while rewatching the clip. She went on to reveal that Yuri “really had a hangover that day.”

Sooyoung went on to confess that she still has the gray hoodie she’s wearing in the video to this day. Even though she threw away a staggering seven boxes of old clothes just a few days ago, she couldn’t bear to part with the piece. “I don’t even wear that hoodie,” she explained, “but I can’t throw it away because of this video.”

The fancam is so famous that even the other Girls’ Generation members have seen it. In a YouTube comment, Yuri asked who filmed the clip to begin with—leading Sooyoung to question the same thing. She revealed that people rarely filmed fancams of her during rehearsals, so she has no idea why they decided to that day. When she was informed that one of her own fans shot the clip, she joked to them, “You’ve got a problem.”

Perhaps the craziest part of the whole ordeal is just how different Sooyoung looked in the actual performance later that day—all dressed up with her moves on point!

Here Are The Two Reasons Why ITZY’s Yeji Easily Passed The JYP Entertainment Audition - Trending News

ITZY‘s Yeji was born to be a K-Pop idol! With her clean dancing and strong singing abilities, it’s hard to imagine her anywhere but the entertainment industry.

She recounted her past audition experiences and what led to her current stardom in a live broadcast. Yeji revealed that the two staff members who gave their approval chose her for different reasons.

"The smaller staff member said she chose me for my unique face." — Yeji

With Yeji’s cute visuals, we can’t help but agree that she stands out for all the best reasons!

Yeji then asked the other JYP Entertainment employee for the honest reason why she was chosen. The staff member’s reply was simple: Yeji’s dancing abilities were outstanding.

"‘What made you decide to scout me?’ I asked her. ‘I scouted for your dance,’ she answered." — Yeji

It turns out that Yeji’s audition wasn’t simple at all. After showing her prepared choreography, she had to dance on the spot several times.

"Don’t you remember? I asked you to dance freestyle so many times. Didn’t you dance freestyle like seven times?’ She said so." — Yeji

The ITZY leader reminisced on her audition with fondness. It may have been difficult then, but it was early proof that she’s main dancer material!

"So I said, ‘Right, I remember. You did it for a purpose, right?’ Freestyle dance…I think I did it like seven or eight times. I danced so many times. She said she was excited then. I guess that’s why she asked so many times." — Yeji

Yeji turned out to be the answer to the employee’s prayers!

"I guess she thought she found someone who could dance a bit. I guess she was happy for it. ‘I found one!’ Maybe [she thought] like that." — Yeji

Yeji auditioned for JYP Entertainment in 2016. She performed TWICE’s debut song “Like Ooh-Ahh” and made her own debut in 2019 with “DALLA DALLA.”

Various stars are joining a new virtual family program!

On August 26, a live broadcast was held to introduce the new variety show “How a Family Is Made.” Cast members Son Ho Young, Super Junior’s Yesung, Yubin, BTOB’s Eunkwang, Lim Nayoung, THE BOYZ’s Hyunjae, Kang Hye Won, WayV’s Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang, AB6IX’s Lee Dae Hwi, and Kim Kang Hoon were in attendance.

“How a Family Is Made” is a reality program that features the stars becoming virtual family members.

Son Ho Young began, “To tell you the basics, we are already one family. Several people can become one family, and there can also be a married couple.” Yesung continued, “We are still figuring it out ourselves, so we cannot tell you even if we know.” Son Ho Young added, “What I can tell you for sure is that I am not a father.”

Child actor Kim Kang Hoon, born in 2009 and the youngest of the cast members, commented, “I cannot say who I am a family with. I am closest with Dae Hwi. I could be the youngest of the family or even the oldest sibling.” He went on, “It feels like we have really become a family. Going to film feels like I’m going to hang out.”

Hyunjae shared, “I have an actual older sister, but I also thought it would be nice to have an older brother or younger siblings. I’m glad to have new family members through a great opportunity.” When asked about potential couples in the show, Hyunjae responded, “It seems like there could be, but I don’t really no, so I’ll say ‘no comment.'” BTOB’s Eunkwang then drew laughter as he commented, “It’s okay, honey.”

Yubin revealed, “We met without knowing at all who we will become family members with. It was nice because it felt new, and the show went a really different direction from what I expected. It was fun because I was able to discover new sides of myself.”

Yesung talked about his decision to join the program. “I anticipate that new sides of myself and warmth can be expressed when we become a family. International fans being able to watch our program also played a big part in my decision to join.”

Eunkwang said he initially went into the show with concern that it would feel awkward. “The staff made the filming atmosphere comfortable. It didn’t feel like we were filming but just felt like we came to hang out. We played lots of games also, and I even forgot there were cameras.”

Kang Hye Won also added, “I thought it could be uncomfortable having cameras filming constantly, but everyone made it comfortable, so filming went well.”

Lim Nayoung commented, “I received a lot of comfort from ‘How a Family Is Made,’ so I always look forward to filming, and it gives me more strength.”

On having three of the WayV members participate, Yangyang shared, “It’s the first time that the three of us are participating [in a program] together. Because our families are overseas, we cannot meet them often, so it’s really nice doing a program like this.”

Lee Dae Hwi produced the OST for “How a Family is Made.” He explained, “I participated as a music director. A song was naturally created while filming. I heard it will be revealed during the first episode.”

“How a Family is Made” is co-produced by MBC and Discovery Channel Korea. It is scheduled to premiere sometime later this year.
